Northern Ireland Photo Tour - phillmonsonphotography

Dates: September 3rd-7th

Location: Northern Ireland, Various locations

Group Size: 6

Difficulty: The majority of areas we will visit will be light hiking on well-worn trails, though some compositions require a light scramble so sturdy boots are recommended. Ireland is well known for rain and dramatic weather, so be prepared for rain and colder weather. We will be staying in coastal towns with all amenities and needs available.

Photo Tour Overview:

Ancient ruins, rolling hills, deep forests and rugged coastline - all of this and more can be found in the incredible landscapes of Northern Ireland. Join me as we explore this enchanted land over 5 days of photography and adventure. We’ll visit places like The Giant’s Causeway, The Dark Hedges, Tollymore Forest, Dunluce Castle and much more for a photography tour of a lifetime! Having lived in Ireland and extensive travel there through the years, I am deeply familiar with the various places we will be shooting - this takes the stress out of planning an individual trip so we can be in the right places at the right times to help you come home with incredible photos.

We will be maximizing our photography opportunities during these five days and in many cases will be shooting Sunrise to Sunset - be prepared for long days filled with incredible locations.

What You’ll Need

-DSLR (or two)

-Various Lenses covering wide, mid-range and telephoto focal lengths

-Tripod and Cable release

-Circular polarizer, other filters as desired

-Extra batteries, chargers, and SD cards

-Weather-appropriate clothing including solid hiking boots preferably waterproof rain gear for yourself and your camera

-Debit/credit card with “chip technology” - no AMEX as this typically isn’t accepted

-Power converters for Ireland and the UK

This is open to all levels, whether you’re advanced and looking for a guided tour to incredible locations, or a beginner needing more help with photography. While the majority of the locations we will visit are accessible by car, we will be doing some light hiking/walking to and through locations. September is a wonderful time to visit Ireland with cooler temps around 55 degrees for the high. As it is Ireland, rain can and should be expected so please be prepared with appropriate clothing and waterproofing for your gear. No refunds will be given for weather as we will be looking for dramatic weather conditions in our photography, and can use overcast conditions to shoot forest scenes and waterfalls - no opportunity will be wasted. September is also great as Sunrise and Sunset times are at reasonable hours.
